Faith Explained was created for people who want to understand God – not just believe in Him abstractly. Many of us grew up around faith, heard Scripture in passing, or absorbed ideas about God second-hand. But when life becomes complicated, inherited answers often fall short.
We research everything else.
Our health. Our careers. Our finances. Our identity.
Yet when it comes to God – the one true constant – we often rely on what we were told, not what we've studied.
This space exists to change that.
Whether you're new to faith, returning to it, or simply asking deeper questions – you belong here.
For a long time, my struggle with faith wasn’t God—it was religion as I had experienced it.
Some of the loudest voices speaking about righteousness were also some of the most hypocritical people I had known. What was preached didn’t always align with what was lived. My questions were often treated as rebellion. Curiosity was mistaken for doubt. And silence was encouraged where understanding was needed most.
That disconnect made belief difficult.
I struggled to accept answers that couldn’t be questioned, especially when those answers came from people whose lives didn’t reflect the truth they claimed to defend. Over time, faith began to feel less like a relationship and more like a rulebook—one that allowed no room for honesty.
But I don’t believe God is threatened by questions.
I believe He understands them. I believe He welcomes them.
Questioning doesn’t come from defiance—it comes from the desire to understand. And when curiosity is fostered rather than shamed, it leads not to distance from God, but deeper clarity about who He is.
What brought me back wasn’t blind belief. It was seeking.
I began approaching Scripture with humility instead of fear. I allowed myself to ask hard questions. I studied context. I looked beyond religious performance and toward God’s character. And in doing so, I found a faith that could withstand scrutiny—because truth does.
God meets us at every stage.
Not when we’re polished.
Not when we have the right language.
But when we seek Him first.
This journey shaped Faith Explained into what it is today: a space where faith is allowed to be curious, studied, and sincere—because understanding God was never meant to be shallow or second-hand.
We cannot guilt or shame people into faith.
Fear may produce silence—but it does not produce understanding.
When questions are met with judgment, people don’t stop wondering—they simply stop speaking. And faith built on silence is fragile, because it was never given room to grow.
God does not call us to pretend. He calls us to seek. To come as we are.
Faith doesn’t grow through silence.
It grows through seeking.
Writing gives me space to be fully honest.
When I write, I can slow down. I can choose words carefully. I can sit with Scripture instead of speaking over it. This space allows me to be more thoughtful, more accurate, and more sincere than I could be if I were rushing to say the right thing out loud or worried about if people were listening to me for the right reasons. I can allow God to be the star of the show.
Faith Explained doesn't come from a place of having it all figured out. It comes from intention – the intention to study carefully, to question responsibly, and to share what I've learned with humility.
I write because faith deserves more than surface-level explanations.
Because God deserves to be known, not summarized.
And because learning happens best when we're allowed to be honest with ourselves first.
This blog is not about teaching from above–it's about walking alongside. It's a place where curiosity is welcomed, reflection is encouraged, and growth is something we experience together.
For some, this space will be a starting place.
Seeking God on your own can feel intimidating – especially if you've never been taught how to read Scripture, or if asking questions once felt unsafe. Faith Explained exists to walk you through that beginning, offering clarity and encouragement for those who may feel like they're figuring it out alone.
This blog is written with the hope of reflecting God as faithfully as possible – not myself. While my thoughts and reflections will naturally appear, they are never meant to replace your own relationship with Christ. Faith is personal. Understanding is personal. And God reveals Himself uniquely to each of us.
Nothing shared here is intended to be adopted without discernment.
Instead, I encourage you to:
Ask Christ to reveal His truth to you personally
Study Scripture for yourself
Research further
Sit with questions rather than rushing past them
Talk to God like you would a close friend – He talks back
This space exists to support the process – not to shortcut it.
Faith Explained is not about telling you what to think. It's about helping you feel less alone as you seek, learn, and grow. Together, we move toward understanding – guided by Scripture, grounded in humility, and dependent on God above all.
May this space always lead back to God–His Word, His truth, and His presence.
The heart of Faith Explained is the hope that you come to know God for who He truly is.
God has not left us without understanding. He gave us Scripture as a place to seek Him honestly, and He revealed His heart fully through Jesus—the clearest expression of His love, character, and truth. If we are willing to study, listen, and learn in every other relationship we value, why wouldn’t we do the same with God?
This space exists to encourage that pursuit: to approach the Bible with intention, to see Jesus as the lens through which we understand God, and to seek Him personally rather than relying solely on second-hand belief.
My hope is not that you leave agreeing with every word written here.
My hope is that you leave wanting to know God more deeply for yourself.
That you feel encouraged to approach Scripture honestly.
That questions no longer feel like something to hide.
And that your faith becomes rooted not in what you’ve been told—but in what God reveals to you.
Above all, I hope this space reminds you that God is not distant from those who seek Him sincerely.
God,
For the person reading this, wherever they are in their faith, I ask that You meet them gently.
Help them see You clearly, not as they’ve been told You are, but as You truly are.
Give them wisdom as they seek, courage as they question, and peace as they grow.
Draw them closer to Your Word,
and closer to You.
Amen.
